Reasons for lifting/training etc.
“We, regular mortal people (unlike the gods) want to feel fitter, sexier, healthier and at the same time want to enjoy life”
Yes this was from yesterdays post.
Heres my reasons:
My goal was purely bodyweight and body fat loss when I started.
10 – 12% body fat is the aim
77kg was the weight target
I want to be stronger, comfortable in my own skin, (o and be a lightsaber wielder flying Jedi). I have my goals of getting back to the weight I was (77kgs) that was when I was serving in the Forces. (I was fit and conditioned for the job at hand but lifting and strength complete novice when I started)
Ive realised since starting with my Coach that I can look good, feel good, and be stronger at a slightly heavier weight.
So the aim is still 10-12% body fat
80kgs is now the weight target
My Coach (Yes I have one) has his plan for me which has my goals in there. I have doubts of course, I get frustrated when I don’t see weight loss (idiot i know because scales are a terrible thing to use to use as a measure of success) but I also have no doubt in my mind that we will get there.
I know I need to make sacrifices to do it. I need to give things time. So far Ive done a full Cycle with him and I’ve started my second cycle. Ive also undertaken a mentorship with him and Im going again in September this year so he can kick my arse and teach me more over the course of 5 days.
Each phase Ive done with him, I have got stronger, I suffer with less back and knee pain. I have become more conditioned. I have learnt more throughout the phases and his tutelage than I have done doing anything else so far. So why the hell Im on not focussed on all of those positives?
Because Im human, Im impatient, In a rush, want everything yesterday and it frustrates me. (see Im normal too!)
Heres the kicker, I know Im with my Coach for a minimum of two years! Why the hell am I in a rush to hit my weight goal now?? (again idiot!)
To combat all my negative thoughts about this Ive written a list as; It highlights why I use my said Coach. I recommend anyone who hires a Coach to do the same. When you look at said list you soon realise why.
My mantra is to Never Give Up, I can, I Will, I Must
