My own worst enemy!!

Ok heres one for you and without a shadow of a doubt we all will relate here.

I myself have a Mentor and a Strength Coach.

Ive been with him since January and too say its changed my concepts, ways of thoughts, processes and systems would be an understatement.

I started with him, because I originally just wanted to drop weight and shed body fat.

Yep Im a Pt/strength coach/normal person and there will not be any chiseled abs seen currently.

Since starting with him, my strength has increased ten fold, to the point where Im hitting PB’s every session. My form is to a high standard. My mental grit and determination is through the roof. My knowledge has also grown substantially. I know I have his support, and like everyone else I worry that Im going to let him down or disappoint.

Now see this is what drives me.

However, I still get hung up on that poxy sad step number!!

So I talk to my Coach and he reassures me but also asks me the relevant questions to ensure I take something away from the whole experience.

What I’m noticing is its happening less and less. The take home points from it are as follows:

I should know better (i stumble on this myself)

I’m improving performance wise and strength wise

I’m learning all the time

So, when you reach this stage or when this happens to you take stock for a moment and consider the wider picture and I mean the wider picture.

The smaller things..

You wake up

You got air in your lungs, blood in your veins, your sight, your senses, your family, friends

Most important of all

You WAKE UP.

As mad as this sounds, happiness is not how snug your jeans or t shirt is, funnily enough its not been 4% body fat with quads that can crush watermelons or biceps that can assist in 1 trillion pulls ups!!!

Take stock, enjoy life
