Most if not all of us have heard about goal setting at some point. You are probably all thinking nah, its gonna be a shit read today” well suck it up.
NEWFLASH
This really is one of those things that can really mean the difference between success and failure. It can also cement or break a relationship between a client and PT.
Whether your goal is weight loss/fat loss/strength gain/to become a fire breathing dragon, you have to have a clearly defined route and aim in order to achieve it!!
Second newsflash here, as PT’s/Strength Coaches we do not double up as little Harry Potters or Grand Jedi (really gutted about the latter! : ) )
But
We can if we there is a clearly agreed upon target or goal
S Specific I mean really specific lose 2 kilos of body fat or increase back squat by 50kg or do 10 bw pull ups
M Measurable if your coach is walking round with no programme to record anything mag to grid
A- Achievable  you want it yesterday isn’t gonna fly
R Realistic Become a jedi (unfortunately won’t happen for me ) but my squat will be 165 kg before for Christmas
T Time put a time frame in place (don’t worry I’m terrible at this too. Was meant to have written a book by now o and conquered the world)
The take home here, is be picky and linear, don’t try to be a multi talented lightsaber wielding wizard attempting to lose weight, drop body fat, gain strength, look amazing and understand Einsteins theory of relativity as it will end miserably!
