Blog 58 Can you have Strength Gain and Fat loss at the same time?
The answer here is all dependant on your starting point and training age. In most cases the people I deal with face to face have a lifting age of zero, and therefore they aren’t going to have any starting strength through certain ranges of movement. This can be the same with Online Clients, purely because although they have been doing exercises a certain way however the methods I utilise are completely different normally to what they have been exposed too.
Then theres the whole argument about rep ranges which I’m going to cover more in depth tomorrow.
To answer the question fully you will need tomorrows blog, but lets just say now for starting out Yes I believe there is a chance to gain strength and drop body fat at the same time as well as getting fitter. I don’t think there is any harm in a Coach/PT/Guru programming within the realms of strength and fat loss. 5 quick pointers to successful fat loss:
1, Hydration
2, Calorie deficit – Not too aggressive!!
3, Incomplete Rest Periods
4, Recovery
5, Consistency
If your asking about severe strength gains then chances are you are no because you want ideally to be focussed purely on one goal.
