Muscle Growth is not a mystery people. If you want to grow and grow mass excessively then you need to eat and be in a surplus. At the same time if you have a programme follow it to a T.
Most often and not the extra work you do involving lifting weights off programme is more likely to hinder you.
If you have energy or feel like you can do more then the harsh truth is you took it too easy in your session. When you finish it should feel like you are absolutely dead in the areas you wanted to work.
If not then its down to the intensity (loads shifted) that you used. Or the form and execution of the exercises were off.
Then theres the argument should I do HIIT, Cardio on top of, booty or core. Again if the programme you are following has been designed correctly then it will hit abs and butt without doing anything crazy like crunches which is encouraging mobility in stable joints i.e. THE LOWER PART OF YOUR SPINE!
In short, Trust the process, do what you need to, eat the desired calories and get at.
