Lets say we got everything down, we have been changing exercises and reps and methods frequently for say 6 months. We see progress but we want more. There are quite simple enough rep schemes, loading patterns, and fancy different methods to last a lifetime! We know we don’t have an issue with changing things up but boy when it comes to nutrition we don’t half make a hash of it. The same with supplements. Instead of going steady and changing one thing at a time we go the whole 9 yards and absolutely rip it all to shreds.

Great if you can do that and it works, but the big issue you are going to have is determining what actually worked for you.

You got your calorie breakdown and macros laid out in front of you. My recommendation would be again based on your goal and then I would suggest you to change 1 yep,

ONE,

Numero UNO

macro nutrient.

Which macro should you change, well that depends on a few things and in other peoples/coaches minds they will have their answers.

Mainly it depends on your goal as well as your current macro levels. However, some Coaches/Pts would say you may not be allowed carb because your subscap skin fold is over a certain measurement. My answer to this is you are not training to be an athlete, you are not training for results to be obtained in four weeks, you are obtaining results to be sustainable over time and whilst maintaining a semblance of a social life as well!!

Calories and macros can be changed at the same time as a training phase changes however, be mindful of the new phase especially if its going to be more demanding than the last (which it should be to progress). If its more demanding then its likely that more fuel is required to perform to a standard and feel good about the session.
